Chiang Mai police arrested 32 people last night (April 12) for violating the Emergency Decree by secretly assembling to gamble or drink or violating the curfew at night.

The Mae Ai district sheriff and Chiang Mai police teamed up in an anti-Covid-19 move to crack down on people violating the decree.
The police arrested six suspects, one male and five females, and seized three sets of cards, four dices, Bt300 in cash and other “gambling equipment”. Officers charged the suspects with gambling, "exchanging property without permission" and gathering in violation of the state of emergency.
Meanwhile, in the area under the Mae Jo police station jurisdiction, five youths were arrested for allegedly gathering for a drink in a dormitory.
Police also arrested 21 people who violated the 10pm-4am curfew. The number of arrests between April 3 and 13 in Chiang Mai totalled 335.
