Thailand waives tolls on 8 expressways until midnight Sept 27
EXAT waives tolls on eight expressways from 1pm on September 26 until midnight at the end of September 27 to ease flood-related travel disruption
- The Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) has waived tolls on eight expressways from 1 p.m. on September 26 until midnight on September 27, 2026.
- The toll exemption was implemented to ease travel difficulties for the public amid heavy rain and widespread flooding.
- The waiver applies to all vehicle types on the Chaloem Maha Nakhon, Si Rat, Chalong Rat, Burapha Withi, Udon Ratthaya, Bang Na–At Narong, Kanchanaphisek, and Prachim Ratthaya expressways.
- Traffic officers will monitor conditions and provide updates on expressway entrances and exits affected by the flooding.
The Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) has waived tolls on eight expressways from 1pm on September 26 until midnight at the end of Sunday, September 27, 2026, to help people travelling during heavy rain and flooding.
EXAT, which operates under the Ministry of Transport, announced the measure at 12.30pm on September 26 following instructions from Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn.
The exemption is intended to ease hardship and facilitate journeys amid widespread flooding and travel disruption.
Eight expressways covered by the toll exemption
The toll waiver applies to all eight expressways listed below for the same period, beginning at 1pm on September 26 and ending at midnight on September 27.
Officers to provide updates on affected entrances and exits
EXAT and Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited (BEM) have deployed traffic officers to patrol and monitor conditions closely.
The agencies will provide information on expressway entrances and exits affected by flooding or unable to open, helping motorists plan their
journeys and choose suitable routes.
EXAT urged motorists to exercise extra caution, follow officers’ instructions and continue checking its official communications channels for traffic conditions and available routes.
