"Mitsubishi's sales have exceeded 6,000 units per month for four consecutive months, and in August, we sold 6,580 units. The accumulated sales volume after eight months is 47,061 vehicles, an increase of more than 104 per cent over the first eight months of 2010," he said.
Seino attributed the sales increase to economic expansion in the agricultural sector and positive growth in the country's automotive sector, which achieved almost 500,000 sales in the first seven months of this year.
"The company foresees that total auto-sales volume in Thailand this year will be around 900,000 to 910,000 units," he said.
The company is planning to introduce a new colour - quartz brown - as the new standard colour for the Lancer EX 1.8 L.
Seino said that in order to achieve its sales target, his company would continue to emphasise its strong points, including its products and after-sales operation, as well as organising more marketing activities.
Mitsubishi will introduce its Global Small in a world premier at the Bangkok Motor Expo in early December. As well, it plans to improve existing models to better respond to customer requirements, starting with the Lancer EX, which has recorded total sales of nearly 6,000 units since its launch.
The new Lancer EX Quartz Brown will be available at Mitsubishi dealers around the country and will feature in Mitsubishi roadshows in department stores.
