Qualcomm appointed Vu Minh-Tri as Region Head for Indochina and Thailand
Tri was previously the General Director of Vietnam, Cambodia & Laos for Qualcomm. In his expanded role, Tri will oversee the execution of Qualcomm's market strategies and manage the Company's business operations across these markets.
In Thailand, Tri will work to further strengthen our collaboration with local operators, OEMs and distributors in order to empower these businesses to capitalize on Thailand's evolving telecom ecosystem. Tri will assume the former responsibilities of Khun Kaneungjit Suriyathumrongkul, who played a critical role in the establishment and development of Qualcomm's Thailand operations over the past 10 years. We thank Khun Kaneungjit for her significant contributions to Qualcomm and wish her well in her future endeavors.
In Indochina, Tri will continue to leverage his experience in the wireless industry to enable Qualcomm's 3G ecosystem partners to devise business growth strategies and optimize network solutions in order to support the region's telecom development and bring the benefits of 3G to the local communities.
Prior to joining Qualcomm, Tri was General Director of Yahoo! Vietnam Co. Ltd., where he was responsible for overseeing Yahoo!'s end-to-end management and operations in Vietnam. Previously, Tri was General Manager of Sony Ericsson Vietnam, where he helped achieve triple-digit growth in volume and revenue, while doubling the manufacturer's market share two-fold.
Thailand and Indochina are important markets for Qualcomm, as the development of the mobile industry in these countries not only enhances the socioeconomic conditions of the local people, but also impacts other emerging markets around the world.
