Mercedes launches new models, prices
German luxury auto-maker Mercedes-Benz will introduce nine new models in the final quarter of this year to expand its customer base and try to win back customers from independent importers.
Mercedes-Benz (Thailand)'s vice president of sales and marketing Stephan Moebius said the company's marketing effort in the fourth quarter would be proactive, with the introduction of nine new models covering all of its product segments.
"More importantly, these new models have undergone a discerning selection process to make sure that they meet all the lifestyle needs of our customers. And we are giving the luxury-car market a surprise with new pricing for seven models, with a special highlight on two of them: the powerful performance of the C 200 BlueEfficiency with a 184hp engine at only Bt2.14 million, and luxury class with natural-gas drive in the E 200 NGT Elegance BlueEfficiency at Bt3.54 million."
The new prices, which were effective from last week, apply to the C 250 BlueEfficiency coupe edition 1; E 200 NGT BlueEfficiency Elegance; E 200 BlueEfficiency Elegance; E 250 BlueEfficiency Avantgarde; E 300 BlueEfficiency Avantgarde Sports; E 250 CDI BlueEfficiency Elegance; and the SLK 200 BlueEfficiency Sports AMG Roadster.
The new prices give customers savings of between Bt100,000 and Bt200,000, Moebius said.
"The launch of our new models and the announcement of our new prices will spur the Thai market for luxury cars, promote free competition and give consumers an expanded range of choices. By introducing the C 200 BlueEfficiency at a starting price of just above Bt2 million, we are embracing a new group of customers into the Mercedes-Benz family," he said.
Mercedes-Benz Thailand recently announced a new service policy for its official after-sales dealer network. It will maintain existing services, but will not provide warranty service on Mercedes-Benz vehicles produced after January 1, 2011 that are purchased outside its official network. The policy took effect on August 30.
