Industry experts say Thailand's organizations to benefit from next generation business intelligence

Microsoft holds event with Forrester Research in Bangkok on business intelligence gains

Thai businesses can benefit from the next generation of business intelligence solutions. This is the message heard by dozens of leading information technology executives at an information session in Bangkok hosted by Microsoft and industry analyst firm Forrester Research.

John Brand, Vice President at Forrester Research said, “Businesses in Asia will significantly benefit from a new generation of self-service business intelligence solutions.”

Forrester Research advises clients that business intelligence solutions can improve productivity by making relevant information easier to find for business users, speeding up decisions and processes. In doing this, they improve results and drive business performance.

Brand continued, “Today knowledge workers spend too much time looking for information, and not enough time analyzing it. As the lines between producers and consumers of information have largely disappeared, workers need the appropriate tools to remain competitive.”

Microsoft’s approach to business intelligence is to offer a cloud-ready information platform to help customers more effectively take command of their expanding data in order to help their companies stay afloat, find greater efficiencies and capitalize on new opportunities.

The upcoming SQL Server “Denali” will give customers even greater confidence in their mission critical applications and help them unlock breakthrough insights across the organization. The technology itself is designed to quickly build solutions across traditional servers, appliances, and private and public clouds.

“The cloud not only makes managing the oceans of data easier and less expensive, it can help companies create new capabilities and products that weren’t before possible,” said Khun Birathon Kasemsri na Ayudhaya, Managing Director, Microsoft (Thailand) Limited. “We see business intelligence becoming more pervasive. Business intelligence shouldn’t be a specialty. It should be a natural part of everyone’s job.”
