CAR INFO AT YOUR FINGERTIPS

BlackBerry mobile-phone users who intend to purchase a new car or a used car can now calculate their payments and make appropriate decisions through a new application called We Car developed by local software company Emagination.

 

Krit Vitayasamrit, CEO of Emagination, said that We Car is a new application that allows users to access to car information related to brand or price over the Internet before they make decision on whether to go ahead with the purchase. The new mobile app is based on the BlackBerry smart phone, and will be available for download free of cost to users early next month. 

 

The We Car app comes with five key features: new cars, used cars, market price, insurance and calculation.

 

For new cars, the application will allow you to search for information with two options – search by brand or search by price. The search by brand option will track down models from the latest announcement until a maximum period of two years since its first launch on the market. The results will appear on the display screen and there will be at least 5-7 brands. 

 

The search by price option will help users with a budget of Bt200,000 to Bt2 million find a car that matches their means. For instance, if you have a budget of about Bt400,000, the app will show up car models in the price range of Bt400,000. The app will also help you calculate the monthly instalment on an auto loan, including interest, so that users do not end up making a wrong choice of car. For used cars, the app will provide the same information as for a new car but the information will be from SURE, a certified used-car company.

 

Krit said the app can help users calculate the value of a car once users provide details of the car such as brand, model, year, colour, mileage and the number of accidents that might have happened before. Users will also be given advice regarding the market value of a car as excellent, good, and fair to enable them to make their decision. 

 

The insurance feature will provide basic information about different kinds of insurance and it will list the broker companies and their locations. 

 

The application can also call the broker companies directly.

 

Lastly, the calculation feature will help users decide whether their income and the monthly instalment are a proper fit. This will not take insurance into account. Users will be informed as to how much they will have to pay per month and for how long, which would give you an idea whether you can afford a new car or used car. 

 

“I think the We Car application will be useful for those who want to purchase a new car or a used car. They can calculate the monthly instalment they have to pay and access car information before making a decision to support their lifestyle,” said Krit. 

 

The company also plans to announce two new applications in the near future –iRoute and We Cards.
