World's First Dedicated Outbound Monitoring Solution for Cloud and Web Services

NEC Asia Pacific has inked an exclusive agreement with iNFOTECT Security Pte Ltd (“iNFOTECT”), a Singapore-based technology firm to jointly market and distribute iNFOTECT’s “INSIGHT for Web Servers” (“IWS”) – the world's first dedicated outbound monitoring solution for cloud and web services – across 13 countries1. This strategic alliance will strengthen and complement both parties’ aims to expand their footprints for the security solutions market in the Asia Pacific region.

Web servers are accessible to the public 24/7, hence they have the greatest exposure to information leakage and are most susceptible to being used for malware attacks. Currently, existing web security solutions are not effective in protecting against such risks. iNFOTECT offers the world’s first effective solution against increasing risks of information leakage and malware propagation via Internet-facing web servers, by leveraging on its patented content detection engine. Besides being able to detect sensitive content in word processing documents and zipped files, the unique feature of IWS lies in its ability to detect malicious contents in PDF files even when they are password-protected.

NEC APAC, a leading public safety solutions provider and systems integrator, recently introduced the concept of “Safer Cities” to build and provide the best-of-breed integrated security solutions and technologies for public institutions and private enterprises in the Asia Pacific region, leveraging on NEC’s technologies and partners’ solutions.

NEC’s integrated security solutions and technologies including its cutting-edge biometrics authentication technologies are amongst the world’s best, as demonstrated by its leading position in biometrics authentication accredited by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)2. Over the last 30 years, NEC has installed its biometric identification systems for more than 480 customers in more than 30 countries, making it one of the most renowned biometric specialists and the world’s leading supplier of fingerprint biometrics for both law enforcement and identity management applications.

iNFOTECT is a pioneer in providing information leakage protection and malware containment solutions for Internet-facing web servers. Its solutions effectively protect against leakages of personal records, server configuration information and intellectual properties, as well as detect malicious or compromised content in public web sites and prevent it from being spread to unknowing site visitors.
