THURSDAY, APRIL 19, 2012

LINE, the world's leading free calling and messaging service, announced it has reached 30 million global users, taking only 10 months to reach this landmark since launching the service in June 2011.

LINE’s features an array of user-friendly functions that have contributed to its growing popularity including a sophisticated UI, cute stickers, a group chat function that allows chat between up to 100 friends and free voice calls. Recently added services such as LINE PC Version, LINE Card and LINE Camera have played an important role in boosting LINE’s level of global awareness and popularity.

“LINE has been upgrading its service features to satisfy its users and as a result is continuously ranked in the top places at the App Store. Reaching 30 million users is a reward for everyone’s efforts and establishing this landmark gives us the desire to continue providing new features that our users will enjoy experiencing,” said Lee Jin-woo (李珍雨), senior manager, LINE Business Office, NHN Corp.

Since launching on June 23, 2011, LINE has been shown outstanding performance in the market and is now being used by users from 231 different countries.

In addition to LINE itself, a PC version (for Windows/Mac) and Browser version for smart-tablets was released in early March. As a result of this, users can also use their LINE QR Code to sign in to the PC version without registering any additional details. Now users can easily communicate and enjoy with friends through LINE at home, in the office and even on SNS.
