Auto firms' recovery set to boost Salee business growth

Salee Industry aims to grow sales by 30 per cent to Bt1 billion this year on strong demand for plastics for autos and packaging.

The company will spend Bt150 million on new machinery to expand its production capacity this year, managing director Sathit Tatawatorn said yesterday.

Although the flood affected most automobile assemblers last year, they have recovered faster than expected.

The company has booked new orders from auto, electronics and packaging companies.

Last year its sales were Bt756 million.

About 55 per cent of its sales come from the printing business and 45 per cent from the plastics business, which supplies the auto industry. The rest is from the packaging and electronics businesses.
