Synnex to distribute Cisco's TelePresence to SMEs

Cisco Systems (Thailand) has formed a partnership with information-technology distributor Synnex (Thailand) to bring Cisco's videoconferencing system, TelePresence, to Thai small and medium-sized enterprises.

Growth in Thailand’s videoconferencing-systems market is expected to reach 20 per cent this year, outpacing that in the Asia-Pacific market, which is projected at between 14 and 18 per cent. The SME market in the Kingdom has seen higher growth than the corporate market.
Cisco Systems (Thailand)’s managing director Tatchapol Poshyanonda said the videoconferencing market was expected to see rapid growth over the next couple of years, across market segments and for all sizes of businesses, in part because of the recovery after the flooding last year.
The company appointed Synnex (Thailand) as its value-added distributor to provide total solutions for the SMEs market, using Cisco’s TelePresence. This is the first time Cisco Systems (Thailand) has entered this market segment. Both the SME and the corporate market are growing rapidly in Thailand, Tatchapol said.
“Synnex will help us take our videoconferencing system to the mid-range market and help SMEs throughout the country benefit from our technology by saving an average of two months’ expenditure a year, and to increase efficiency through a working collaboration,” Tatchapol said.
He added that by next year, videoconferencing would become the standard mainstream channel for holding meetings.
“Our solution serves all kinds of end-point devices such as notebooks, tablets and smart phones supported by all operating systems: iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone. It is easy to use and allows people to meet anywhere, any time and with any device.”
Synnex (Thailand)’s deputy chief executive officer for sales and marketing, Anuchit Boonyaluck, said that as the value-added distributor for Cisco’s TelePresence solution for the SMEs market, the company had deployed the system for its own internal use since last year with an investment of Bt10 million.
