Acer joins with Intel to introduce the Acer Aspire V3 with the exclusive "Olympic 2012" logo

Ready to build "Acer Triumph Symbol" to awaken the spirit of world-class competition.

 

Acer and Intel are introducing the Acer Aspire V3 Series notebook with an exclusive “Olympic 2012” logo in a limited edition featuring a powerful 3rd Generation Intel® Core TM processor to mark the Olympic London Games 2012 in next month.
 
Acer is also introducing the All-in-One Aspire Z5771 desktop PC Series and the Acer P238HLbd Series LCD monitor that come in special designs to welcome the Olympics while also creating a display at Central World symbolizing victory with a statue of a giant raised fist clutching an Olympic gold medal to honor and inspire Thai athletes competing in the Olympic Games2012.
 
Boonchai Ngouvisitkul, Associate Director, Consumer Product Management Division said that Acer was counting down to the 30th Olympic Games 2012 in London, England and on this special occasion Acer was ready to launch exclusive products with the Olympic Games 2012 logo stamped on every item of equipment which were being produced in limited numbers in order to provide customers with a special collectors' item as an Olympic souvenir.
 
These products include the Aspire V3 series, a limited-edition notebook with a 14- or 15-inch screen that comes with an 3rd Generation Intel® Core TM i5 processor and offers superior video performance with an NVIDIA GeForce GT 600 Series VRAM 2GB video card capable of multitasking such as watching a movie, listening to music, accessing the Internet or playing games smoothly.
 
The audio is superb with Dolby® Home Theater v4 while there is an HD webcam along with an HDMI® port and the Aspire V3 is ready for multimedia with Acer clear.fi technology and Install Windows 7 system availability for use. The prices begin at Bt23,900 (including 7% VAT) and with a free one year warranty for parts and labor along with insurance against accident and theft for one year, he noted.
 
In addition, the All-in-One Aspire Z5771 Series desktop PC with a multi-touch 23-inch LCD screen is being launched and this comes with the Intel’s 2nd generation Intel® Core TM process with up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM and a 1TB SATA hard disk drive and graphic card high performance with nVidia® GeForce® GT 520 up to 2GB and build in Bluray Drive, HD webcam that has a microphone. This PC supports a wireless LAN, Bluetooth and has a TV tuner while it comes with USB 3.0, HDMI-IN and HDMI-OUT ports prices start at Bt36,990 (including 7% VAT) and this comes with a free three-year warranty for labor and parts with a free repair service to the home for three full year (On-Site Service), regardless of the number of visits or the distance traveled.
 
Also being introduced is the LCD P8 Series P238HLbd model (Olympic Edition) come with new design by photo frame design concept and slim display 1.75 cm. widescreen 23-inch Full HD 16:9 LCD monitor with a crisp 100 million:1 contrast ratio and up to 16.7 million colors which saves over 68% in energy used and VGA, DVI ports with connect line, this is appropriate for designers while it also responds well to the needs of other professionals. With a stylish design and a compact footprint, this monitor sells for Bt5,090 (including 7% VAT).

Nitipat Praweenwongwuthi, Deputy Division Head, Marketing Division, Acer Computer Co., Ltd. said that the Acer Group was a worldwide partner of the Olympic Movement and had mobilized 350 staff members to oversee the information system for the Olympic London Games2012. The equipment provided comprises over 30,000 notebooks, tablet PCs, desktops, computer monitors, servers and storage systems and these resources will run the entire information system for the event. Acer’s equipment would be deployed across the event's data and media centers, and the itinerary for each athlete would also be managed via Acer’s machines, he said.

“After that, this display will be moved to Supachalasai Stadium (the National Stadium) where the 'Acer Triumph Symbol', the ‘Wall of Honor’ and the statues will support and give encouragement to Thai athletes and provide an opportunity for the public and especially young people to learn about the history of Thai sport,” he said.
 
“This can be a source of education and should help inspire Thai youths to be interested in sport and should help with self-motivation so that they might become part of a national team and bring honor to the country,” said Nitipat.
