Intel partners with IT City to launch Ultrabook City, the first unique retail zone to complete the Ultrabook-buying experience in Thailand.

Intel Microelectronics (Thailand) together with IT City has launched Ultrabook City, the first unique interactive retail zone in Thailand. With the aim to educate consumers and transform user experiences from the latest Ultrabooks’ technologies, the Ultrabook City will complete the PC-buying experience. Intel is also introducing the ultra-cool “Catch and Win” application for consumers with a chance to win over 10 Ultrabooks from today until 16 September 2012.

Accharas Ouysinprasert, Country Manager of Intel Microelectronics (Thailand) Ltd., said, “Conceived by Intel just over a year ago, the Ultrabook category was quickly embraced by the industry. Today more than 110 Ultrabook devices based on the 3rd generation Intel® Core™ processor are under development and will be introduced this year. We want to keep the momentum going by reinforcing the key features and uncompromising performances of the Ultrabook to the target groups. Therefore, Ultrabook City will be the first place in Thailand to showcase a wide range of technology and Ultrabook-related products providing consumers with better accessibility and ultimate-buying experience.

“Ultrabook City will span an area of 40 square metres at It City store, Digital Gateway Ekamai in Bangkok. This venue will offer the complete Ultrabook experience from leading brands to discerning consumers. Not only will it allow consumers to gain a better understanding of the multi-functionality of the Ultrabook, it will help to strengthen relations with local retail stores and expand market-reach to a broader target group in the second half of this year,” Accharas concluded.

Ultrabook City at IT City Digital Gateway Ekamai is a new type of retail store for consumers, showcasing a premium selection of Ultrabook from leading brand including Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Sony, Sumsung, and Toshiba. To help consumers enjoy the full experiences, special advisors from Intel are also on hand to demonstrate the superior performances and offer professionals advice tailored to individual preferences and objectives. In the Experience zone,  consumers will not only see the wide range of designs on display and read through technical specifications, but also experience the Intel® Wireless Display Technology, which wirelessly connects the Ultrabook for file sharing and enjoy other entertainment activities at home in full HD on TV1.  Ultrabook City will be a prototype for 10 Ultrabook zones at major IT stores in Bangkok and 60 retail shops nationwide.

As part of the Ultrabook City launch celebrations, Intel is also introducing “Catch and Win” competition. Based on a smartphone application called Intel Pocket®, consumer can scan specially marked displays in selected location at the Ultrabook City or participating Ultrabook zones from today until 16 September 2012 to win an Ultrabook. First phase of the competition starts now until 29th this month (July) at Ultrabook zones in Pantip Plaza, Pratunam, IT City and  Zeer Rangsit.
