TMT vice-president Vichien Emprasert said that the main switch will be checked, to demonstate the company's responsibility for the products.
He said that TMT was prompted for the recall upon complaints from some clients. The company also found that the main switch of the particular vehicles malfunctioned as reported, due to "too-small-volume" of lubricrating fluid.
Subjected to the recall are:
1. Camry, made during March 2006-December 2008, 830 units
2. Altis, made during Sept 2007-Dec 2008, 33,048 units
3. Vios, made during Oct 2006-Dec 2008, 87,753 units
4. Yaris, made during Feb 2006-Dec 2008, 39,276 units
"To assure clients of Toyota's product quality, the company will send written invitations to clients, who can come to service centres for free-of-charge fixing from Oct 25 onwards," Vichien said.
