DTAC, Opera launch Facebook Zero

DTAC has joined hands with Opera to become the first to launch Facebook Zero in Thailand. The service offers speedy and free Facebook browsing on Opera Mini.

DTAC and Happy subscribers can get free browsing on feature phones via Opera Mini browser at high speed. Customers can now simply go to http://0.facebook.com and enjoy the connection for free from today until January 31.
The partnership will benefit both their customers and enable them to access their favourite websites via any Internet-supported handsets, not just smart phones. The service meets the high demand for Facebook, with 40 per cent of mobile users logging in via feature phones. Moreover, it also expands data usage to new groups of customers.
DTAC and Happy customers can first go to the Opera Mini browser by keying in http://m.operamini.com on the Internet function and then go to Facebook Zero via http://0.facebook.com. For more information, please visit www.dtac.co.th
Opera Mini is a user-friendly browser that can be accessed via both smart phones and feature phones. It is six times faster as it employs data-compression technology. This enables speedier downloads and lowers Internet costs.
