SAP recently announced that India's Avon Cycles and China's largest bottled water producer Nongfu Spring have now taken up the business platform powered by SAP HANA.

Steve Watts, president of SAP Asia-Pacific Japan, said the new real-time business suite brings analytics and transactions into a single in-memory platform. The SAP Business Suite powered by SAP HANA offers new options to customers by providing them with the ability to translate real-time insights to action while removing the complexity of redundant data and systems.
SAP HANA aims to help customers navigate the dynamic market conditions of the Asia-Pacific region, home to four of the world’s five fastest-growing economies, 60 per cent of the world’s population and an urban population of 1.9 billion people that’s expected to balloon to 3.3 billion by 2050.
This environment presents businesses with both challenges and opportunities. With fierce competition and ever-changing conditions, real-time access to information becomes critical for decision-making.
“In many economies across the Asia-Pacific region, demographics are shifting. The favourable conditions that fuelled growth are vulnerable to increased volatility. To sustain growth in this new reality, economies need innovative businesses and innovation requires getting the right information in real time. Real-time computing will have a profound impact on the way business gets done in Asia. It’s a milestone for our customers, our ecosystem of partners and for SAP. When businesses make better decisions faster and innovate their business processes and models, the entire economy benefits,” Watts explained.
SAP went live on the SAP Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM) application powered by the SAP HANA platform in two and a half months. More than 14,000 SAP employees worldwide now have real-time access to real-time business insights for smarter decision making and new productivity gains.
Kuljeet Singh Sethi, chief information officer of Avon Cycles, said his company had replaced the Oracle business suite with the one from SAP HANA, adding that the power of doing business in real-time is immense.
“At Avon Cycles, we are constantly looking for ways to do things faster, smarter and more efficiently. We need to constantly manage a huge volume of bought out components – each bicycle has more than 360 components and there are over 200 models with an average of three sizes per model and three colours in each size. Adding to the complexity is the challenge of forecasting our sales as bicycles are regarded as commodities in India, resulting in a very short lead time for material requirements planning. Transforming to real-time planning and monitoring of order fulfilment scenarios are extremely critical for Avon Cycles, and we believe the SAP business suite will help make a significant difference,” Sethi said.
A customer can benefit from the SAP HANA business suite via its rapid-deployment solution that addresses the most urgent business needs by providing a complete package of pre-configured software, implementation services, content and end-user enabling at a fixed price and scope.
Rapid-deployment solutions are offered to speed implementation and lower risk. They accelerate the customer’s ability to consume the latest SAP innovations by offering a clear business outcome along with delivery timeframe and total cost of deployment.
