Colorado tops Chevrolet sales

Chevrolet sold 22,071 vehicles in the first four months of this year and 4,617 last month.

“We now have a product portfolio that caters to most major segments in the Thai market,” Gustavo Colossi, GM of Chevrolet Sales Thailand and vice president of sales, marketing and aftersales for Southeast Asia operations, said yesterday.
Leading Chevrolet’s sales in April was the Colorado with 1,856 units sold, while the Sonic’s increasing popularity led to 1,233 units driving out of showrooms. Other models that saw healthy figures in the month were the Trailblazer (548 units), Captiva (526 units), Cruze (412 units) and Aveo CNG (42 units).
Bookings for the new Spin subcompact MPV and Cruze E85 compact sedan continued to be encouraging. Customers can start taking their new multipurpose vehicle for a spin next month while delivery of the updated Cruze should commence this month.
“All the products in our booth during the recent Motor Show – from the Colorado, Trailblazer and Captiva to the Cruze, Spin and Sonic – are available at all our dealerships nationwide,” he said.
The company expects its growth to continue, especially in view of its latest launches. The Spin addresses a growing market segment, while the Cruze E85 provides another cost-effective alternative to motorists who love it for its design and drivability.
To increase the availability of its products and cater to rising demand, Chevrolet has recently signed a dealership agreement with Sim Auto Sure Co, or Chevrolet Suwinthawongse.
The latest dealership, Chevrolet’s 97th, will serve eastern Bangkok and the greater metropolitan area. Other dealerships expected to come online soon are Chevrolet Yasothon in the Northeast, Chiang Mai and other provinces throughout the country, bringing the total to 120 by year-end.
Chevrolet’s sales momentum also continued across major markets in Southeast Asian. The automaker sold 6,170 vehicles across the region last month, including 723 units in Indonesia, up 66 per cent year-to-date, and 356 in the Philippines, up 74 per cent.
