Ssangyong hopes to sell 500 Stavics in Kingdom

Ssangyong is hoping to meet its sales target of 500 units for its new Stavic MPV, after being able to move as many as 368 Stavics since the official launch in April.

Ssangyong (Thailand) managing director Kampol Kanjitwattana said the company has not been affected by the shrinking Thai automobile market since it does not offer mass-market vehicles.
“We carry out niche market operations and we haven’t been affected much from the market contraction. Organising road shows give us access to new customers and we are also very flexible with customer requests. This allows us to respond to different customer requirements,” he pointed out. Ssangyong’s growing deliveries means the company needs to expand its sales and service network, he said.
The company plans to open two new showrooms within this year in Khon Kaen and Surat Thani, in addition to the existing eight in Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Udon Thani, Chiang Mai and Nakhon Sawan.
