Lamina appoints distributor in Laos

Lamina Films has appointed an official importer and distributor in Lao DPR in order to cater for the expanding automobile market in that country.

Channapha Saisamorn, managing director of Techno-Sales (Frey) Co Ltd, said the company had been studying the Laotian market and saw potential for growth.
“Although the automobile market in Lao is not very large, it has been growing continuously every year. In addition, Lamina products have also enjoyed the highest popularity there, but we have not had any official importer and distributor,” she said.
Lamina Films are usually imported to Laos from Thai retailers located near the border, while many Laotian customers also drive across to Thailand to have them installed, she said.
“We want to offer better service for Laotian customers as well as offer proper warranties and that is why we have decided to appoint an official importer and distributor,” Channapha said.
LML Co Ltd is the official importer and distributor for Lamina products in Laos, and the company now has 7 service centres in Vientiane.
LML managing director Anuchit Sangvian said the company plans to expand the number of service centres to 10 by the end of this year and 15 within 2014.
Laos has no auto production, but imports vehicles from other countries. In 2012, approximately 25,000 vehicles were imported and growth is estimated at 15-20 per cent annually.
