International Auto Salon planned for June

Inspire Entertainment and Siam Sport Syndicate has confirmed they will stage the Bangkok International Auto Salon 2015 (BIAS) from June 24-28 next year at Impact Muangthong Thani.

The announcement follows the cancellation earlier this year of the 2014 event due to the political uncertainty at the time.
BIAS is the largest after-market and customized-car show in the Asean region, and the upcoming event promises an even more spectacular array of customised cars and accessories, along with a large number of “exciting” activities.Organisers will spend as much as Bt280 million to stage the BIAS at Challenger Halls 2 and 3, covering a total area of 40,000 square metres.
Chairman of the BIAS 2015 Organising Committee Wiluck Lohthong said during a press conference that the event would adopt a more international theme that reflects the start of the AEC (Asean Economic Community) next year.“The show will feature a large number of exhibits from the Tokyo Auto Salon in Japan that will be held in January, along with sales of accessories for both automobiles and motorcycles. And with the AEC starting in 2015, we plan to internationalise our show and have more foreign exhibitors displaying their products,” Wiluck said.Deputy chairman of the BIAS 2015 Organising Committee Kongkiat Vienravee said a larger number of overseas companies will be taking part, while manufacturers will launch numerous special models at the show.“Right now we are moving ahead with the organising, such as allocating the show space and coordinating with Japan to get top vehicles from the Tokyo Auto Salon as well as from other countries for displaying at the BIAS. We also plan to spend a larger budget on public relations and advertising,” he revealed.Kongkiat said Bt150 million will be used for staging the show and various activities and entertainment, such as setting up a “J Lifestyle Zone” that is a reproduction of the Tokyo Auto Salon consisting of Japanese accessories as well as Japanese food stalls and Japanese cultural shows. There will be a lot of entertainment during the show, including the Sexy Car Wash show and performances on the central stage. The number of shows and activities with visitors by the A-Class Girl Thailand group will also be increased. As much as Bt130 million will be spent on marketing communications and public relations, according to Kongkiat.
“The success of the previous two BIAS events has gained support from the licence holder in Japan in terms of staging a festival-style event for automobile lovers that is different from other automotive exhibition events,” Wiluck said. “Our concept is clear and the BIAS is a show that features customised cars, high-end accessories as well as a good level of entertainment.”
