Axis Communications has announced AXIS Q6000-E, an outdoor-ready 360-degree network camera that integrates seamlessly with the AXIS Q60-E Series of PTZ dome network cameras, providing a unique surveillance solution.

With just a single click, operators can optically zoom in on details of interest with high precision while at the same time being able to maintain an overview of large areas of up to 20.000 square metres – about the size of four football fields. This makes the AXIS Q6000-E ideal for city surveillance applications such as monitoring of public squares and parking lots, as well as food courts in shopping malls and other open areas.
AXIS Q6000-E provides multiple, individually configurable video streams in H.264 compression to greatly optimize bandwidth and storage without compromising image quality. Motion JPEG is also supported for increased flexibility.
AXIS Q6000-E is supported by the industry’s largest base of video management software through the Axis Application Development Partner Program. The camera includes support for AXIS Camera Companion, AXIS Camera Application Platform, ONVIF specification for interoperability of network video products and AXIS Video Hosting System (AVHS) with One-Click Camera Connection.
AXIS Q6000-E is planned to be available in Q4 2014 through Axis distribution channels.
