Science and Technology Minister Atchaka Sibunruang said on Thursday that Thais launching start-ups would also be able to seek out venture capital at the event.
She said the government, as part of its effort to boost economic growth, is also working with 30 universities to develop curricula of use to start-up entrepreneurs as well as university staff and students.
Eight curricula related to start-ups will be offered for 30,000 students, and teachers will be specifically trained to help students pursue a career in innovative business. The participating universities are being asked to facilitate idea exchanges among students on ways to launch and operate a business.
Atchaka said the government has made it a high priority to build public awareness about the importance of start-ups to the economy and to raise interest among young people, most of whom have yet to gain business experience.
