Toyota Motor Thailand Co Ltd (TMT) and Chulalongkorn University have announced an EV (electric vehicle) sharing program.
The “CU Toyota Ha:mo” project will start with 10 EV vehicles this December, said Ninnart Chaithirapinyo, chairman of TMT.
“We plan to increase to more 20 EV vehicles around middle of next year. We will have 30 EV vehicles in total for the first phase” of two years," Ninnart said.
The program covers the campus and commercial areas within the Chulalongkorn university site, with 12 Ha:mo stations spread across strategic areas. There will be 10 charging stations and 33 parking lots to serve user demand and connect to BTS, MRT and public buses, he noted.
Target users are students, lecturers, officers and commuters in the area. Service fee start from Bt30 for 20 minutes for those who register as members.
The project is intended to serve as an “open innovation platform” to co-develop a mobile society increasingly adapted to social sharing of EVs.
