King Mongkut ITL partners to develop academic info tech

King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) is collaborating with HUAWEI and G-ABLE to develop new academic information technology.
The project is crucial to creating a first-rate campus network, the Institute announced in a press release.
The revamped network would play a critical role in KMITL’s five-year path to be a “digital university” in which skilled graduates are prepared for changes in the future.
The network could enhance teaching quality at the university, since students and faculty members would be able to integrate their knowledge to create new innovations. The innovations, in turn, could benefit the public by drawing on the university’s most convergent, agile, and innovative network for their needs.
Highlights of the project would include a 100G-based campus core network, SDN (Software-defined Network) for campus and data centre convergence, and the use of an educational cloud data centre container.
