Slightly warmer across the nation, heavy rain in the South

With the high-pressure area, or cool air mass covering the upper part of Thailand starting to weaken, temperatures are expected to rise by 1-3 degrees Celsius in most of the country, although it will remain relatively cool, especially in the northern and northeastern regions.

The northeastern monsoon affecting the Gulf of Thailand and the southern region is moderate but coupled with a low-pressure area covering the eastern part of Malaysia, will bring heavy rainfall to much of the lower Southern region.

Waves height will reach 2 metres in the lower Gulf of Thailand, higher in areas with thunderstorms. The upper Gulf of Thailand will see waves of 1-2 metres while the Andaman Sea will have waves about 1 metre high, reaching 2 metres in thunderstorm areas. People in the lower southern region are cautioned about the dangers of heavy and accumulated rainfall, which might lead to sudden flooding and diverse forest runoff, especially in hilly and riverine areas. Boat operators should navigate cautiously and avoid sailing in areas with storms.
