First BMW showroom opens

BMW has opened its first showroom and service centre in Yangon at the corner of Narnattaw and Pyay roads in Kamayut Township.

It is offering new 3, 5, 6 and 7 series saloons as well X1, X3, X4, and X5 SUVs. 
Prices range from US$70,000 to $550,000 with a three-year free repair, maintenance and warranty service, said Chan Mya, managing director of Prestige Automobiles. After-sales care includes repairs and maintenance for the body and engine. It is also planning to sell the i3 battery-powered BMW, depending on the market demand.
Prestige Automobiles said it had agreed to be the sole distributor of BMW and would run a servicing workshop using BMW tools and equipment, according to BMW Group’s standards. BMW, which is based in Munich, Germany, and founded in 1916, manufactured more than 1.6 million motor vehicles in 2013.
