This November, the vibrant Japanese venue Namu on the pure shores of Koh Samui is collaborating with Bangkok’s highly acclaimed neo-Indian restaurant, HAŌMA, for an event titled “NAMU X HAŌMA – A Dialogue in Umami & Spice”. The event features Indian culinary icon and sustainability champion, Deepanker Khosla. Chef Deepanker brings the creative skill and vision behind HAŌMA, a restaurant that has earned significant accolades, including a Michelin One Star and Green Star. HAŌMA is also the holder of the “Sustainable Restaurant Award” by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list. Furthermore, Chef Deepanker has achieved the first-ever "Champions of Change" award from The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list. His cuisine transports diners on a journey across India, utilizing highly sustainable produce and homegrown Thai ingredients.

For this event, Chef Deepanker will thrill guests alongside Chef Daniel Carbajal, the Japanese Chef at Namu. Together, they will showcase mesmerizing, multi-sensory gastronomy in a stunning seafront setting on November 1st and 2nd, 2025.

An Intimate Culinary Journey

“A Dialogue in Umami & Spice” merges Namu’s innovative Nikkei cuisine with HAŌMA’s neo-Indian creativity.

The experience begins with an eight-course omakase dinner. Offered in two sittings (17:30 hrs and 20:30 hrs), the menu will be paired with fine sake and Namu’s signature cocktails. Guests will also have the rare opportunity to meet Chef Deepanker in person as he shares his inspiration.

The following afternoon, Marriott Bonvoy members can attend an intimate private cooking class at Namu at 14:00 hrs. This class offers a deep dive into traditional Indian techniques and HAŌMA’s iconic dishes. The culinary retreat culminates with cocktails, music, and light bites at WOOBAR® as the sun sets over Koh Samui.
