Huawei Technologies, China's leading provider of information and communications technology (ICT) solutions, believes that the flood crisis will only have a slight impact on its business in Thailand.

Yang Hua, president of Southeast Asia enterprise business for Huawei, said the company was evaluating the situation, though it seemed unaffected so far.
However, Somsak Pejthaveeporndej, president of The Value Systems, a distributor of Huawei (Thailand)’s enterprise solution services, said some state agencies had delayed the launch of some major telecom and ICT projects. Somsak added that most affected companies would spend the first half of next year restoring other aspects of their businesses and would only turn their attention to ICT solutions in the second half.
Huawei (Thailand) set up its enterprise solutions department this year. This arm of the business offers solutions in Internet protocol, communications technology, information technology, industry and service.
To tackle the flood crisis, Huawei has teamed up with The Value Systems to create a special recovery assistance programme, worth Bt10 million, to help industrial estates resume operations and recover from the flood crisis. The recovery programme, primarily focused on affected companies in flooded industrial estates, will include Huawei Quidway S2700 Series Ethernet LAN (local area network) switches, 300 sets of which will be provided free of charge to replace flood-damaged hardware. The Value Systems will be in charge of delivery and onsite installation services after initial inspection, while all equipment provided will be covered under a one-year warranty.
Assistance will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Companies interested in the programme have until December 31 to contact Huawei and The Value Systems.
