Real Move, a True Corp subsidiary, officially launched the TrueMove H brand prepaid 3G service in January, having launched the post-paid service last August. The brand already has more than a million subscribers, of which 80 per cent are post-paid customers.
Under its co-launch of the new marketing campaign with Thai Samsung Electronics, consumers who buy the Samsung Galaxy Y smart phone worth Bt4,790 and subscribe to a TrueMove H prepaid call package, will be able to gain up to Bt4,790 in return through refilling the call value.
For example, if they top up the call value by Bt200, they will receive an additional Bt200 call bonus. The bonus will be added to every time they top up the call value until it reaches Bt4,790.
The campaign runs until June 30.
True Corp’s chief commercial officer for mobile business, Suphakit Vuntanadit, said the package is expected to bring in about 100,000 new users per month. Real Move has targeted a total of 4 million subscribers for its 3G service by year-end.
Suphakit added that with demand for mobile data services having increased substantially, cellular operators were now |focusing on offering quality data services rather than engaging |in a price war. Between 12 million and 15 million mobile phones are sold in Thailand each year, of which 250,000 to 300,000 are priced from Bt4,000 to Bt5,000.
