GTH is targeting Bt600 million in revenue this year, a 20-per-cent increase from last year, chief executive officer Visute Poolvoralaks said yesterday. This will be mainly driven by ticket sales from three movies.
Early this year, the company brought in Bt152.5 million from its movie “ATM Err Rak Error”. Next month, it will launch its second movie of the year, “Seven Something”, to celebrate its seventh anniversary. Its third film, “Countdown”, will come out in final quarter of the year.
GTH will produce and distribute merchandise related to its films through 7-Eleven convenience stores, B2S bookstores and DVD stores. It will also join marketing campaigns with CP All, the operator of 7-Eleven stores, to promote these products. In addition, is opening a GTH shop at Santorini Park in Cha-am, Phetchaburi province, and GTH Shop Online to offer both merchandise and video discs of its films.
Managing director Jina Osothsilp said the company would launch a GTH Movie Application for smart devices such as iPhones, Android phones and tablets soon. This application will provide digital movie download services.
Visute added that the company planned to organise a variety-show concert and comedy show in the second half to mark its seventh anniversary.
Jina said the company expected its new sources of revenue to contribute about 5-10 per cent of the total this year. Under this strategy, the company is also hopeful of broadening its appeal to younger generations.
In additional, the company exports films to regional markets, including Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea and Japan. It plans to expand into new markets such as the Philippines and Indonesia.
