It expects the move will enable it to achieve a share of 30 per cent of the large-format printer market this year.
Eiji Kato, country manager of Epson (Thailand), yesterday said the company had introduced three new models in the Epson SureColor S series to support signage printing, another three models in the Epson SureColor T series to support CAD/CAM, a new Epson SureLab SL-D3000 designed for digital labs and the Epson SurePress L-4033AW to support the printing industry.
The firm expects the eight new printers will drive the growth of the commercial and industrial printing market, which is worth Bt300 billion a year.
Yunyong Muneemongkoltom, general manager of the company, said the printing industry in Thailand is continuing to expand in the run-up to the Asean Economy Community in 2015, when regional trade barriers will come down, and as the Kingdom targets regional printing-hub status.
Meanwhile, the new machines will enable business users to increase their efficiency and reduce operating costs in the developing domestic and regional markets.
Yunyong said large-format printers come in three categories: graphic art, CAD/CAM and outdoor signage printing. The domestic market is worth some Bt600 million, of which the company is aiming for a share of about 30 per cent this year.
The company this year expects to generate revenue of about Bt2.5 billion, which would represent growth of around 15 per cent. Some 70 per cent of the company’s income is from consumer and business products, and 20 per cent from peripheral and imaging devices.
The GM expects that in the next three years Epson (Thailand) will be the local leader in the printer market and provide a full range of product lines for all customer segments.
