A large number of senators today queued up to vote for the establishment of a "super board", the special five-member group which will monitor National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission's compliance with the Frequency Allocation Act.

From 149 senators, 142 cast votes today. Winning the highest votes on the broadcasting front is retired soldier, Gen Tawatchai Samutsakorn (80 votes).  On the telecommunications front, it was Anant Voratitipong (97 votes).
The voting took place during 9.30-11am and the waiting line stretched from Parliament Hall to the building's entrance.
A number of 72 senators applied to join the entity and 67 are qualified. Five are disqualified, as they hold shares in private companies like True and TT&T.
Ten senators with the highest votes are picked from today's voting. On November 23, five would be shortlisted.
