Technology Promotion Association launches TPA Bookshelf
The Technology Promotion Association (Thailand-Japan) yesterday launched TPA Bookshelf, an electronic application to create digital versions of its existing and new books.
TPA director Sujarit Koontanakulwong said the association aimed to provide digital versions of its 400 existing books and journals as well as to transform its future publications into digital via the TPA Bookshelf app. Already around 250 books, journals and magazines are available on TPA Bookshelf.
He said TPA had also launched the Japan Town app to provide information about Japan for Thais who are interested in travelling there or studying Japanese culture.
By the end of this year, it aims to see around 50,000 downloads each of TPA Bookshelf and Japan Town.
TPA adviser Virach Sornlertlamvanich said the association provided a self-publishing platform for writers and provided an online bookstore via TPA Bookshelf to help these writers distribute their books digitally.
"We welcome all writers to join our platform that we developed to help them get their books on the shelf more easily," he said.
Writers who want to join TPA Bookshelf can apply for training in digital publishing, and once their book is available on the bookshelf they will share in the revenue, Virach said.
He added that TPA Bookshelf was a way for readers to get easier access to books via their mobile devices.
