The Agricultural Futures Exchange of Thailand yesterday outlined its 2015 business plan and "AFET VISION 2020" strategy, set to elevate itself to be an international agricultural futures exchange.

Wiwat Teerawanichpong, president of Afet, said continual growth of revenue and client base, expanding number of listed futures contracts and better research and development of those futures contracts were part of the plans.
Important steps to be executed during its second decade include improving all corporate strategies, including re-polishing its corporate structure to tackle all of those obstacles that it had faced with during the past 10 years by refining personnel – the most important resource to drive the organisation to success.
It would enhance work processes by reducing unnecessary procedures in order to be competitive in the fast-paced business world and reinforce a firm trust with all the parties – farmers, and both domestic and international investors – in order for them to gain more confidence in futures trading and hedging in the exchange.
Afet would also move forward with a five-year plan under the “AFET VISION 2020” strategy to elevate the exchange to become an international agricultural futures market, by concreting its corporate foundation, and to be competitive with other futures exchanges.
