Redbox partnered with AirAsia to launch the newest low-cost courier in town, offering the best value-for-money express courier and parcel delivery service.

Wholly developed by AirAsia, Redbox saves customers up to 50 per cent on costs over existing courier services.

Redbox targets businesses, average consumers, corporate clients and overseas foreign workers for the carriage of regular parcels, business packages and documents throughout the airline’s extensive route network.

Redbox will be serving Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Nepal with plans to expand to other countries in the future, such as Australia, Japan, China and Hong Kong.

“For us to remain in the forefront of the industry and to continue with our pledge to provide services at the lowest fares and rates, constant innovation and improvements to our products and services are very important,” Tony Fernandes, CEO of AirAsia Group, said this week.

“Ancillary income adds around 20 per cent of our revenue and we are determined to boost this further with new services such as Redbox. With Redbox, we also hope to open up a new horizon for businesses in Malaysia and across the region. In the current economic climate, businesses can only benefit from low-cost courier services such as this, promising reliability and up to par with industry standards.

“By tapping into our extensive route network, which spans over 88 destinations and 22 countries, as well as excellent flight frequencies in Malaysia and across the region, Redbox enables more commerce opportunities for local businesses, providing exclusive reach to various destinations not connected by other airlines.

“Especially beneficial for SMEs, Redbox affords lower operating costs, which are essential for SMEs to operate,” he said.

Supoj Walee-itikun, general manager of Redbox by AirAsia (Thailand), said that nowadays, competition has become more challenging, whether concerning the development of a new type of business or the improvement of services to access customers more rapidly and closely.

“We would like to support Thai entrepreneurs such as SMEs and e-commerce companies and stores for opportunities to build their businesses and help to expand more effectively with lower costs and increased savings on budget. We would also like to provide a quick, economical and convenient air parcel service for foreigners who work in Thailand and for Thais living overseas.”

The Redbox courier network spans more than 300 outlets and kiosks.

Redbox offers door-to-door deliveries, tracking and tracing of parcels, online booking and payment and insurance coverage.
