CHECK Point has introduced a new anti-malware solution as it targets revenue growth of more than 40 per cent this year.

Darrick Hor, regional director for South Asia at Check Point Software Technologies, said Thailand was an important market for the firm, in the region’s top three. Therefore, the company is continuing to invest in this market to support its customers concerned with cyber-security.
The firm announced a new security solution called Check Point Threat Extraction, which proactively ensures that documents are delivered to a network with zero malware in zero seconds. Organisations can now defend their networks against threats with a technology that delivers documents with 100-per-cent safety, it claims.
“Attacks are evolving and increasing every day, and documents still pose one of the highest risks of infection for organisations. According to the Check Point 2014 security report, 84 per cent of companies downloaded an infected document in 2013. Companies need to implement stronger defences against these attacks,” Hor said.
Naruenart Jaikwang, Check Point’s Thailand sales manager, said the new security solution would improve network security for businesses of all sizes as well as other organisations. The firm this year is also focusing on providing its security solutions to the banking and financial sectors.

In second spot
The total network-security market in Thailand this year will be worth around Bt600 million, of which Check Point claims a No 2 position after Cisco.
“Thailand is a [high] potential market for us. We are still investing to expand the market, since customers now are concerned [about] network security in terms of threat prevention, data protection and mobility security for mobile cross-platform,” Naruenart said.
He said the firm provided its security solutions through four distributors including Netpoleon and M-Solutions. It also provides its products via 10 system integrators such as MFEC and Datapro.
The company plans to increase its headcount in Thailand by 50 per cent this year.
