“Eventpass is a digital platform with both Web and mobile applications for professional organisers and amateurs to plan their events more effectively. The platform covers tasks from event planning to execution to publicity and registration work, which can be done online or at the event’s site,” Ekkanit said.
“The platform also allows users to get more information about the events. For example, a prospective exhibitor may want to know how many people are likely to visit the exhibition before he or she makes a decision whether to join. Or conference participants may want to download some presentation papers or keynote speakers’ speeches or get some coupons from the event. All these can be done via our application.
“We started out about two years ago taking responsibility for the registration work for big events. We’ve also introduced a green campaign to reduce usage of paper catalogues and brochures.
“For example, we have QR [quick response] quotes codes that can be used by product owners such as auto companies to allow visitors to access their product information online via the QR quotes codes so that exhibitors don’t have to hand out catalogues. For visitors, it’s also more convenient from not having to carry bags of printed materials.
“Visitors can just go to the booths and scan the QR quotes codes with their mobile phones to get those materials. Business name-cards, company profiles and other information can be distributed this way.
“In fact, handing out printed materials is rather wasteful and many people do not bother to read them.
“Once you download the Eventpass app, you will have access to a wide variety of exhibitions, conferences and other events that will be held in the near future. Users can register or buy tickets to join these events online.
“Then you can use the digital pass on your mobile to get event materials or business name-cards etc when they go to these events. For event owners, there is a separate app to manage the events like checking in visitors and participants.
“Recent big events such as the Bangkok Gem and Jewellery Fair, Beyond Beauty Asean World Spa, and Thailand International Logistic Fair used our Eventpass platform. Bangkok Gem, for example, had about 700 exhibitors, while more than 20,000 businesspeople attended the fair and held negotiations.
“The app also allows businesspeople to continue contacts and e-mails after the events. We also have a |feature for business matching, |which is based on the data provided |by trade visitors when they register |for the events.
“Answers to questionnaires filled out by visitors will allow the system to suggest new contacts based on relevant interests. Users can also pre-book appointments with other businesspeople before they go to the events. Usually, online registration takes place about four months ahead of the event schedule.
“Our business model is based on the licence fees collected from event organisers for both small and large events. In addition, we have staff to help organisers manage the event onsite. We also plan to introduce a ticketing and payment service for organisers so that visitors can pay online to get the pass.”
