Titipong Khiewpaisal, AIS senior vice president, said yesterday that CP All stopped ordering the prepaid cards early this month.
He declined to elaborate, while CP All also declined to comment.
A telecom industry source said CP All is still negotiating for a possibly higher share of the sales of AIS refill cards at its 7-Elevens.
During the bargaining, CP All has suspended stocking the refill cards from AIS.
The source said some 7-Elevens are still selling One-2-Call refill cards while inventories last.
The refill cards of True Corp and Total Access Communication are still available at 7-Eleven as usual.
The source said the mobile phone operators are reportedly paying 5-7 per cent of refill sales at 7-Eleven to CP All.
CP All is the retail arm of CP Group, which is also the major shareholder of True. There are more than 8,000 7-Elevens nationwide.
As of the second quarter of this year, AIS had 39.4 million mobile phone subscribers, of which 85 per cent were prepaid.
Titipong said that besides 7-Eleven, AIS had many channels nationwide where customers could pick up One-2-Call refill cards, including AIS customer service shop, Telewiz shops, Family Mart, post offices, B2S bookstores.
There were more than 10,000 outlets combined.
Phones can also be topped up at 40,000 ATMs of 11 banks nationwide and via AIS’ mobile banking service mPay.
