Sugar artists take top spot at Cake International

Thai Rungruang Sugar Group, the owner of Lin sugar, has proven that Thai creation is second to none by taking the cake designing team and sugar artists, the winners of Lin Thailand Sweet Creation, to the top spot in the Cake International 2017 competition in Burmingham, England. 
This is the largest sugar sculpture competition with more than 1,800 pieces from international competitors from both Asia and Europe this year. There were more than 200,000 visitors at the event, which was held from November 3 to 5. Each year, there are sugar sculpture artists from Thailand joining the competition. This year, Thailand’s representatives, supported by Lin which has won in the same competition, were Rachnida Thaowong and Arinrada Pitikultarawut.
The winning cake from Thai artists of Lin Thailand Sweet Creation 2017 will be on display from November 30 to December 3 at Fashion Hall, 1st Floor, Siam Paragon.

Veteran to head FWD Thailand 

FWD Group has announced the appointment of Poramasiri Manolamai as Chief Executive Officer designate for FWD Thailand, effective January 1 2018 and subject to regulatory approval. Poramasiri will lead FWD’s growing business in Thailand to drive the delivery of its technology-driven customer-led strategy.
Poramasiri brings over 25 years’ experience in the Thai insurance industry to FWD. She will work closely with the incumbent CEO of FWD Thailand, Mike Plaxton, through a leadership transition period until her appointment is effective. Mike will be retiring in 2018 after over 48 years in the industry, half of which have been in Asia.

Johnnie Walker’s ‘Taste of Black’ drive 

Jonnie Walker, the purveyor of excellent quality and world-renowned Scotch whisky brands with a long and illustrious history, recently unveiled the latest brand campaign ‘Taste of Black’, bringing forth multi-dimensional flavours to cater to the diverse and modern lifestyle of people in search of new experiences to fulfill different aspects of their lives. Apart from the unique characters of the exceptional blended Scotch whisky that the world has come to love since 1820, Johnnie Walker is also known globally as a brand that constantly evolves. In Thailand Johnnie Walker has been successful since its first launch in the country in 1924.

The first activity of the campaign is ‘Taste of Thonglor’ that highlights the multidimensional aspect of the core campaign to the frequenters of Thonglor, Bangkok’s most vibrant and colorful neighborhood. The brand’s four dimensions of flavors - Refreshing, Bold, Mysterious and Vibrant – will be discovered at Beamfest 2017 Powered by Johnnie Walker.

M Channel, Thairath TV offer ‘M Theater’ 

A new phenomenon for Thai TV audience emerged when M Channel joined hands with a digital TV station, Thairath TV Channel 32, to offer a better option for movie watching on TV by launching the "M Theater" TV programme to expand viewer base and increase ratings. 
 M Channel, a satellite TV station for movie lovers, has aligned with Thairath TV to offer a new and better movie watching experience to the local TV audiences under the reciprocal business model of "Jigsaw For Entertainment." M Channel uses its expertise as Thailand’s leading movie station in selecting and feeding "M Theatre" with high quality and hit movies, while Thairath Channel 32, an HDTV broadcaster, provides sharper images with exciting sound to the audience. “M Theatre” is scheduled to air twice a week on two slots of primetime : 10 pm on Friday and 12.00 on Sunday. The programme will be premiered on Friday November 17. 
The partnership between M Channel and Thairath Channel 32 is also considered to be a boost for the local movie industry because it creates a new trend of a movie-watching culture among larger crowds under the reciprocal business model of "Jigsaw for Entertainment." 
M Channel is an entertainment channel providing content for audiences on various platforms including satellite TV, cable TV, TV online, IP TV, cell phone application, smart TV application and website. Digital TV is the only platform that is not in the package of M Channel. Therefore, forming a partnership with Thairath TV, a leading news and sports station which is looking for an opportunity to add more entertainment programme, is a collaboration that complement each other's strengths.
