This way, kids, to a ‘Bright Tomorrow’

This way, kids, to a ‘Bright Tomorrow’

Delicious food, fantastic art and even a drag-queen show raised a bunch of money last month for Unicef in its efforts to help migrant kids build skills and help young people in general tackle issues affecting their lives.

Patapohn “Pleng” Sibunruang, Sornsin Maneewan and Pitta na Patalung, who are entrepreneurs and innovators in their 20s and 30s committing their resources and enthusiasm as recognised Unicef NextGen Thailand Champions, organised the three-stage “Bright Tomorrow” fund-raiser held at Siri House, a Bangkok social club.
All proceeds after expenses were donated to Unicef Thailand to support migrant adolescents’ vocational development opportunities and the Youth Challenge Programme promoting young people’s participation in designing solutions to solve their generation’s common issues.
Part one was “Chef’s Table with Charlie X Pleng”, featuring delicious dishes made by chef Charlie Jones of the restaurant Quince.

Jones whipped up salmon roe mini-tartlets, hay-smoked burrata and US Black Angus striploin jerk beef. “We also welcomed food stylist Phadlee,” Patapohn said. “I want everyone to know that raising funds to support children can be done in fun and various ways that suit people’s different lifestyles.”
“Mind on Canvas with Panyawee” featured modern abstract artist Panyawee Pongsinthai conducting a workshop arranged by Sornsin and Chananda Thavisin at which participants dug in with their bare hands and unleashed their imagination.

Popular drag-queen performer Pangina “Pan Pan” Heals took the stage for the glamorous and fun “Queen for Kids with Pan Pan” party. DJs provided the funky music and Pangina introduced some of her fabulous friends.
