Bangkok governor’s chief adviser Wanlop Suwandee, deputy permanent secretary Jakkapan Phewngarm and Phra Nakhon District Office director Somchai Traipitayakul also showed up to talk to the protesters at around noon.
After talking to some five protesters' representatives, Jakkapan told reporters that the 400 square metre area being blocked was being used as a parking lot and some people were even collecting illegal parking fees. He quoted Wallop as saying the area could not be used for extended parking, though people could stop for 15 minutes to drop off goods. The vendor's representatives said they will get back with a response in three days.
The vendors of Pak Klong Talad and nearby Saphan Phut Market have been told by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to move out by February 29 as part of a landscape improvement plan.
