Irrawaddy Princess River Cruises will operate a new luxury cruise line along the Ayeyarwady River between Mandalay and Bagan in November.

The Princess Royal is the third river cruise ship run by Irrawaddy Princess and will offer outward and return trips from Mandalay to Bagan, eaching lasting three days and two-nights.  The 2,200 temples and pagodas of the ancient city of Bagan, which dates back to the 9th century, are perhaps Myanmar’s greatest tourist attraction.
“Foreign tourists are very interested in taking luxury cruises along the Ayeyarwady River. As we didn’t have enough boats for the passengers, we built the Princess Royal to offer more itineraries. We will operate these itineraries at a cheaper price than other river cruises,” said Tint Tint Lwin, managing director of Irrawaddy Princess River Cruise.
Irrawaddy Princess River Cruise has been operating RV Yandabo and Irrawaddy Princess II luxury cruises along the Ayeyarwady River since 2011.
Tour companies have started building luxury cruisers and offering itineraries to meet increasing demand from tourists who want to embark from Mandalay to visit the historic centres of Sagaing, Mingun, Bagan and Bhamo along the Ayeyarwady River.
