Dubbed the city's tallest hotel, the property sits between the 50th and 69th floors of the mixed-use Gama Tower on Jl. Rasuna Said in Kuningan, South Jakarta. With a soft opening slated for August 26, it boasts 360-degree views of the city, from surrounding areas to the faraway shores of North Jakarta that are visible on a clear day.
“Our tagline is: you pay for the room, the view is free,” said general manager Arun Kumar.
Up to 272 rooms are provided at the hotel, including presidential suites, all decorated with a combination of contemporary and traditional elements, with prices starting at 1.98 million rupiah ++ (or about US$150) on weekends and 2.38 million rupiah ++ on weekdays until September.
Meanwhile, among its facilities are an all-day dining restaurant named Seasonal Tastes, an indoor swimming pool, gym, spa and a grand ballroom that can accommodate 1,500 people. In October, the establishment will also host a rooftop Japanese-Peruvian restaurant between the 67th and 69th floors dubbed Henshin.
The Westin Jakarta is a branch of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, which also owns the Sheraton, St. Regis and Le Meridien hotels. It is expected to hold a grand opening by the end of this year.
