Luxury skincare La Prairie introduces "New Advanced Marine Biology collection", a shining example of "eco-luxury", reflecting the brand's commitment to the environment.

At its core is advanced aquaculture, the scientifically controlled cultivation of algae, kelp and other sea plants in a protected, land-based environment. The anti-oxidant properties of algae combine with intense structural hydration to stave off wrinkles and fine lines and preserve a youthful appearance. The line includes foaming mousse cleanser, revitalising emulsion, eye gel, day cream and tonic, for between Bt2,450 and Bt5,200.

Nobel inspiration

Eucerin Aquaporin Active, according to Dr Yuliya Zielinski, includes gluco-glycerol to help the “aquaporin” or “water channels” inside the body to increase in capacity by 150 per cent and keep the skin moist. Each cell can have up to 200,000 aquaporins. Within 1-2 weeks discomfort and dryness have disappeared. It also helps soothe skin from reddishness. This product follows up on Peter Agre’s discovery of aquaporins, which earned him the 2003 Nobel Prize in chemistry. The line is priced Bt490 to Bt1,100.

Trees believe

Origins has again leveraged the natural power of plants in the award-winning Plantscription Anti-aging collection, with formulations that contain Anogeissus tree bark extract, an anti-ageing ingredient that delivers extraordinary skin care results. After five years of intensive research in partnership with plant scientists at the University of Strasbourg, Origins discovered that the extract protects collagen and help boost skin’s natural production of a glycoprotein called fibrillin. This resulted in a firmer and more resilient, youthful-looking complexion. The line includes cleanser, eye cream, and serum for Bt1,450 to Bt4,500.
