Goi is now attached to Atiwara “Toon Bodyslam” Kongmalai, who has just pulled out of the Carabao biopic in which Pe co-stars.
“I was asked by my senior people not to do an interview together. I’m okay working with Pe because we all grow up and move on, but I want to protect myself a bit and I didn’t want [Toon] to feel uncomfortable with it.
“There is nothing between Pe and me – he’s my friend and we can work together. There shouldn’t be a problem because I consulted Toon before I accepted this job.”
Reporters told Pe he was on his own for the interview. “Oh, really?” he said, clearly taken aback, but then he laughed and brushed it off. “I can work with anyone and I think we’re cool working together – she seems to be happy. Goi is actually a very friendly and funny person. She even teased me about not having a girlfriend!”
Pe suspected that Goi was just being cautious. “She might be afraid something could go wrong.”
Obviously the ex-couple have learned that the main reason the press is hanging around is the hope that something does go wrong.
Life goes on
It’s not like Goi missed out on being interviewed. She did her own, and took the opportunity to say her two-year-old relationship with rocker Toon is going well. They celebrated Father’s Day together with her family. “My mum thinks he’s very polite. He mixes just fine with older people.”
For the holiday season they’re flying to England and France. “Toon doesn’t have any concerts lined up so we’ll probably spend two weeks there.” And Goi hinted that fans can come along – by “stalking” them via Instagram. She’ll definitely be posting photos during the trip.
