Lulu Guinness's new collection is a riot of eyes, lips and British symbols

FOUNDED IN 1989 when Lulu Guinness was just 29, the brand that bears her name began with a briefcase for women and morphed into an idea for vintage style rose basket bags.
Today, Lulu Guinness continues to live by her motto “Dare to be Different” with a thriving international label and shops from New York to Tokyo and London.
The brand recently introduced its autumn/winter collection to Bangkok offering bags that are totally feminine and which boast a red lipstick motif and a colour palette of black, stone, gold and red.
Professional ladies will love the Izzy satchel with its red lip clasp, the Nicola tote in white and emerald, the Amelia tote with its fancy star as well as the flamboyant Leila clutch, the perfect complement to that little black dress.
The Cruise collection pays lip service to simplicity with graphic designs and a palette of black and stone articulated by bold pops of sapphire, silver and the Lulu signature pillar-box red.
Inspired by British painter Bridget Riley’s works, the signature stripe has been re-worked into a more psychedelic chevron print, as seen on the Amelia tote and crafted in a luxe, mother-of-pearl style Perspex on the Natalia clutch. Fabrics are juxtaposed with colour in the contrasting sapphire and silver Penelope clutch crafted in shiny leather and suede.
The Hitchcock-inspired for Dial M for Murder coin purse brings to mind the eternally glamorous Grace Kelly and the telephone box key-ring and iPhone case reiterate the quintessential Britishness of the brand.
Lulu Guinness is on the first floor of Siam Paragon. Call (02) 610 9544 or visit www.LuluGuiness.com.
