Suspense grows, plans shrink for Aum-Nat nuptials

People have been talking since last year about the "imminent" wedding of lovebird-actors Atichart "Aum" Chumnanont and Nat Myria Benedetti and it's still very much imminent, but at least planning is in motion for the event sometime around mid-year.

Aum has cautioned everyone that it’s only going to be a modest affair, and sure enough they’re shunning any sort of lavish party in a five-star hotel. They want to keep things warm and intimate, just for the families and close friends. The guest list will be between 50 and 70 people, far less than an average celebrity wedding.
“It’s not that we want it really ‘exclusive’,” Aum says. “We’re just afraid that we couldn’t handle a lot of guests!” We’re not exactly sure what he means by that, but you can’t blame the guy for wanting the reception to be more like “a big family gathering for dinner”.
Meanwhile Nat already has her dress picked out, though Aum declines to reveal how much he’s forking out by way of a “dowry”.
“You guys can just wait to see what happens that day,” he grins. Asked whether he’s ever going to get down on one knee and formally ask for Nat’s hand in sacred matrimony, like those romantic geeks he plays in the soap operas, Aum can only grin some more. “Maybe there won’t be that kind of moment like in a soap, but there could still be something different.”

Tono, Tangmo save on rent
Singer Pakin “Tono” Khamwilaisuk doesn’t seem to think a grandiose wedding is the way to go either – or any kind of wedding for that matter – not when it’s true love that counts. He and the love of his life, actress Pattaratida “Tangmo” Patcharaveerapong, got engaged in December but so far not even a distant tinkle of bells.
You might recall that their engagement ceremony left people thinking they’d actually got married, since it took place in a church with all the fancy trappings of a wedding. They denied that was the case, though, saying it was just the usual exchange-of-rings warm-up for the main event.
However, Tono and Tangmo have just revealed – on TV’s “Woody Talk”, in an episode that airs tomorrow – that they are indeed living together. They say they’re now cohabiting as if they were already husband and wife.
“It doesn’t matter how people look at it,” Tono says. “To me, I already married with her the day I told her I loved her. That was the day she welcomed me into her life and said she was ready to be together. To me, that promise is more meaningful than anything else.”
The two are planning to have kids, but their parents are going, “Whoa, whoa!” Maybe they think they’re too young or something. We haven’t seen that part of the show yet, so join us in tuning in to see if Woody can get the low-down on what exactly their folks object to. We might have a debate on our hands about unmarried couples “living in sin”.
