SET UP RECENTLY by musicians and artists, new support group Life Goes On sets out to help members of Thailand’s entertainment circle when, through no fault of their own, they are hit by disaster. The first to be receiving such aid is Attapon “Eddie” Makranon, a member of the now defunct 1990’s pop jazz outfit Autobahn, whose home was recently badly damaged in a fire.
Somchai Kamlertkul, Jirapan Ansvananda, Roj Kwantham and film director Patrick Meesaiyati are the men behind the group’ first project, the charity concert “Life Goes on Music for Friend”, which takes place this afternoon in the grounds of the Thailand Cultural Centre.
The concert, which is free, has received by sponsored of several organisations, among them the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre Foundation, Singha Corporation, KTC and Art Cafe by Brown Sugar.
“We are proud to support this excellent project and this worthy group’s debut activity,” says Kraisak Choonhavan, president of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre Foundation.
And indeed the line-up is impressive. Among the artists taking part are Burin Boonvisut of Groove Rider, Koh Mr Saxman, Billy Ogan, Kirati “Khiew Carabao” Promsaka Na Sakolnakorn, Manote Puttan, Nathida “Keng The Voice” Sriyanon, The Beatlenuts, Bangkok Connection & Somlek, Soul After Six, Olarn Phromjai of The Olarn Project along with Nopanan “Kor” Prayoonsuk, Thanakrit “Wan” Panichawit, Nareekrajang Kantamas, Surasee Ithikul, Pongprom Snitwong na Ayuthaya, Kaleidoscope, Arak “Pae” Amornsupasiri, Tanapat “Prode” Mathayomchand, Nap A Lean, Pom

Somchai Kamlertkul, Jirapan Ansvananda, and Roj Kwantham are serving as the stage directors while the stage production is being handled by Mr Team Productions, T Lighting, and Q Junction.
Roj Kwantham and his son Map and Norasate Mudkong, aka DJ Seed, are the masters of ceremony.
“I’m delighted at the kindness of all our musician friends as well as the media for giving up their time to make this concert a success. Eddie deserves all the help we can give him,” says Roj.
In addition to the music, there will several booths selling instruments, music products as well as food and drinks. Artist Vasan Sitthiket will be on hand to do some water colours and photographer Sopirat Ngamkam will be snapping images.
