GIVE YOURSELF an early festive gift this year and prepare for the onslaught of seasonal parties with one of the signature Valmont treatments on offer at Kempinski The Spa at Siam Kempinski Hotel.
Each beauty ritual benefits from its own iconic treatment but all use top-of-the-range products from Swiss skincare brand Valmont and share the “butterfly motion” massage technique that adds tone to the body and face while soothing the senses.
At The Spa you take a journey inspired by the European cycle of seasons. The “Spring Summer” massage seeks to energise, “Autumn Winter” to rehydrate, “Summer” to give a radiant glow and “Winter” to smooth wrinkles and add firmness to the skin.
“The comprehensive and enveloping Butterfly motion is used to apply all Valmont products during the treatment. It sets the pace for the treatment, encourages the client to let go of all their stress, and evaporates nervous tension for even more visible relaxation of the features,” says Anne Launere, international trainer.
“The butterfly motion unfolds in a specific series of effleurage strokes targeting precise areas of the chest, neck and face. This gesture boosts microcirculation and promotes lymphatic exchanges allowing for the elimination of toxins, thereby making the skin more receptive to the treatment. The beautician is positioned on the side, which is a better vantage point for observing the client’s skin and how it reacts to the treatment. Eye contact, meanwhile, offers added comfort for the client.
The “Winter” treatment, which is ideal for dry and dull skin, aims to regenerate, firm and add radiance. The first of the Valmont treatments to be introduced, “Vitality of the Glaciers” quickly became an icon. It has accompanied the brand since 1985 and reflects the technical prowess of the Swiss anti-ageing expert. After the treatment, the complexion is once again fresh and radiant, features are relaxed, and the skin has never been fuller.
The treatment begins with a careful cleansing with exclusive Valmont gestures. Makeup is removed from the eyes and lips with the White Falls lotion. From her position on the side, the beautician then uses the butterfly motion to thoroughly rid the skin of all traces of makeup and impurities with White Falls and Vital Falls, Valmont’s star cleansers. A gentle yet deep exfoliation follows, removing dead cells that dull the complexion. Applied in delicate movements that avoid tissue strain, the Face Scrub revitalises the skin.
The treatment continues with a re-modelling using the iconic Prime Renewing Pack. Alternating smoothing, effleurage and acupressure techniques enhance the effectiveness of the product’s active ingredients and erase traces of fatigue, leaving the skin looking well rested.
“We are happy if clients fall asleep during the treatment so that they are totally relaxed. This helps activate all the biological processes for a long-lasting effect,” Launere says.
The intensive version of the treatment, Cellular Complex Vitality, regenerates and revitalises while products from the Prime Generation line fill the skin with anti-ageing and anti-wrinkle ingredients to treat areas that bear the signs of time.
“Vitality of the Glaciers” is suitable for all skin types and is especially recommended for city dwellers for its oxygenating and detoxifying action.
Kempinski The Spa is easy walking distance from the Siam shopping and entertainment district and accessible through a sky bridge connecting the hotel with Siam Paragon shopping mall.
