The powerful baseliner who grew up in Khon Kaen before moving to live with her mother in Norway relied on her aggressive baseline game to upset the top seed and world No 724 for her second ATT win, a few days after celebrating her maiden.
“I’m quite confident with my game these two weeks. My opponent has big game but she missed the ball easily. That’s why it was quite comfortable for me,” said Patcharin who will turn 22 next week. She has made more than Bt60,000 by sweeping two titles and gave half of the prize money for her uncle.
“When I was little, I had been raised by my uncle and aunt from age 4 -11 in Khon Kaen. I feel grateful for their support so it’s appropriate to share this prize money with them,” said Patcharin who after spending time with her mother in Norway for five years decided to come back to Thailand to pursue a career in tennis.
“Tennis is not quite popular in Norway and there’s not many pro events. That’s why I decide to come back to Thailand,” said Patcharin who will take a break after a long season.
“Wining these two titles is such a way to finish the year. Actually I hope to do better but so far I have nothing to complain,” Patcharin said.
